Meet the Team

John Maxwell

I am currently the President of J&J Precision, Inc.  We are a family owned and operated business operating two facilities in Thomaston CT, since 1977.  I have worked for J&J for over 20 years in many different capacities. I earned my Tooling apprenticeship and continue to gain experience working with and learning from our talented team members.  Following in the footsteps of my father John S. Maxwell who I continue to learn from today.

I currently sit on the board of Thomaston Savings Bank, and our company is involved in local manufacturing organizations, SMA and Northwest Chamber of Commerce. We also donate to Thomaston Police Explorers, Thomaston Food Pantry and ACS Relay for Life.

Abby Murphy

Abby is J&J Precision’s Vice President. She began her time with us in 2010 as Office and Human Resource Manager. She fulfilled that title until her promotion to VP in 2021.  Her first taste of the manufacturing industry was at Gaynor Electric, when she took a position there in 2004 just out of college.  When she transitioned to J&J after six years at Gaynor, she continued her education and obtained her bachelor’s degree in accounting, from Post University.  As Vice President, Abby, works one on one with our employees, to make sure their work experience at J&J is satisfying, and they have the benefits they need for their families. As our lead in the office, she oversees the financials of the company and is also a liaison between our tube fabrication customers and our production team.

Abby is also proud of the work she has done with the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life from 2010 to present, especially co-chairing the 2015 & 2016 Northwest Relay for Life’s.  She also enjoys the work her and her husband, Bill, do for One More Dog Rescue.
